Telepathic MOON DANCE
Telepathic Moon Dance is a mystical dance band that transports you to exotic realms of the heart and mind. Combining influences of funk, jazz fusion, world music, and EDM they craft a smooth and complex sound that melts genres and faces. At the helm is drummer and composer Walker Adams who has played with St. Vincent and bassist Percy Jones.
The ability to share thoughts and feelings through music is a central theme of the band. They strive to be empty vessels for the music coming from their inner creativity. The listener hears this and begins to feel the music also emanating from them. This is pure art and is the essence of Telepathic Moon Dance.
Walker Adams Bio
Born in August 1981 Walker Adams grew up in Vermont where his early influences were the sounds of nature and his parents vinyl collection. Moving to a suburb of NYC at age 12 his interest in music continued with school jazz band and original rock bands. He attended Berklee College of Music where he studied intensely and played with contemporaries Annie Clarke(St. Vincent), Mark Kelly(The Roots) as well as Christian Scott and Esperanza Spaulding.
He graduated Berklee in 2004, hit the road with fusion bassist Percy Jones in his trio Tunnels in 2006, then toured with St. Vincent 2007-08. He joined The Ludlow Thieves in 2009, and in 2011 joined Miggs for tours opening for Scott Weiland, KT Tunstall, and Plain White T's. His supportive role in all these bands taught him to respect the primary artist's creative vision, and he began to manifest his own. He's released music under his own name and continues to write, produce, and perform in NYC and the Hudson Valley.
